ABOUT DANA
I believe in the innate healing capacity that exists within us. Not just healing for the body but also the mind and spirit. In my bones. I know the call of nature as a guide that beckons us forward into greater connection and wisdom.

Even as a young child I remember linking our human expression to that of the divine world – we too have sacred waters running through us, we breath and are breathed by the trees, plants, oceans; we too seek the light and need our roots to be firmly planted and deeply supported. I have seen the great pain of perceived separation and the longing to be in connection that pulls at the strings of our being.

The modalities of healing that I offer can bring us back into that sacred connection. Through Somatic Experiencing, Yoga and Plant Spirit Medicine we can trace our way back to a connected and inspired life. I am devoted to supporting individuals to finding their way back to a place of wholeness and health. These approaches re-nourish the body/mind/spirit back to a state of well-being and peace.

I currently do rehabilitation therapy work and support clients with a range of symptoms such as anxiety, depression, insomnia, PTSD, phobia and prolonged grief disorder in collaboration with a rehabilitation and multidisciplinary team I have found that the blended approach or energy work, nervous system support and somatic-focused yoga therapy to be an integrative method that focuses on the individuals healing needs.
My education journey began when I completed my undergraduate studies in Psychology at the University of Ottawa. After graduating,
I realized I wanted to dive deeper into what healing really meant.
Next, I attained my certificate in Holistic Nutrition from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition (CSNN). As much as I loved learning about food/vitamins/biology etc. what drew me in was studying the anatomy of the spirit. The teachings about the body and emotions being completely connected resonated on a very deep level.
With a yearning to explore spirituality, I turned to yoga. Soon after, I graduated from a 200hr and then 300 hr Teacher Training program with extensive training on pranayama and mantra. Since then, I have continued to study learning about yoga for pain management, yoga for trauma and continue to be a student of this ever-evolving healing modality.
The following spring, I signed up for the Plant Spirit Medicine Healer 2-year Program. It was invaluable learning. I reconnected to a part of myself I forgot had existed. My relationships with the natural world and with the people in my life changed and blossomed in ways that words cannot fully describe.
Onward to studying a fascinating healing modality called Somatic Experiencing. This healing work focuses extensively on the body and the regulation of the nervous system as a way of liberating ourselves from stored stress and trauma. Somatic Experiencing has completely changed and informed my way of healing and I have seen incredbile transformation with the clients I work with.
